Satellite TV Distribution Amplifier

The goal and purpose of a satellite TV distribution amplifier is to boost the strength of the received signals to a suitable level, ensuring that all devices within the SMATV system receive high-quality signals.

CLTSAT designs and manufactures high-quality SMATV TV signal distribution amplifiers that provide professional-grade performance, supporting both terrestrial and satellite broadcast signals.

Description

Number of Input Ports

CLTSAT satellite TV distribution amplifiers offer 3-way, 5-way, 9-way, 13-way, and 17-way input ports. These input ports indicate the amplifier’s capacity to receive different signal sources:

  • 3-way: 1 terrestrial TV signal + 2 satellite TV signals
  • 5-way: 1 terrestrial TV signal + 4 satellite TV signals (all four polarization signals from one satellite)
  • 9-way: 1 terrestrial TV signal + 8 satellite TV signals (all four polarization signals from two satellites)
  • 13-way: 1 terrestrial TV signal + 12 satellite TV signals (all four polarization signals from three satellites)
  • 17-way: 1 terrestrial TV signal + 16 satellite TV signals (all four polarization signals from four satellites)

Amplifier Gain

Amplifier gain refers to the amount by which the satellite TV distribution amplifier boosts the TV signal, typically measured in dB. Positive dB (+dB) represents signal gain, while negative dB (-dB) represents signal loss. CLTSAT distribution amplifiers can usually provide a maximum gain of 15dB for all input ports. Users can adjust the gain within a range of -5dB to 15dB to achieve the desired signal strength. (Depending on customer needs, a gain range of -5dB to +25dB is also available.)

Installation Location and Quantity of Amplifiers

The installation location and quantity of amplifiers depend on the specific circumstances:

  • High Signal Areas: If the signal received by the antenna is very strong and the signal detected at the output end is sufficient, there is no need to add an amplifier. The signal can be directly transmitted to the satellite cascade multiswitch. TV Distribution amplifiers are not designed for very high-level input signals; too strong a signal might overload the cascade multiswitch, causing picture distortion.
  • Low Signal Areas: If the signal received by the antenna is very weak, an amplifier should be used at the front end of the SMATV system (the output end of the antenna LNB) to increase the signal level, ensuring that the subsequent cascade switch receives a sufficiently strong signal.
  • Cascade Multiswitch Configuration: Generally, an amplifier is needed after every two cascade multiswitches to ensure appropriate signal strength.
